For kitchen gadget enthusiasts as well as anyone who likes to cook, Cook's Illustrated equipment reviews are a great resource for finding out about new tools on the market. The following are just a few of their (and our!) favorites. ~
Oxo Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer
The Oxo 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer has a double-headed configuration with a knife on one end and a slicer on the other. The serrated plastic knife easily slices the skin while the plastic blades create clean, uniform slices. The circular pitter makes for safe and easy work of removing avocado pits.
Oxo Good Grips Citrus Squeezer
Constructed of die-cast aluminum, this sturdy citrus squeezer fully extracts the juice from lemon and lime halves and is effortless to clean. The soft, nonslip handles absorb pressure and provide a firm grip.
Ateco Offset Spatula
For frosting a cake, there’s no better tool than an offset spatula. The long, narrow blade is ideal for scooping and spreading frosting, and it bends like a stairstep where it meets the handle for better leverage. Ateco's offset icing spatulas have an appropriately sized blade that’s thin and nimble. The handle is comfortable and attached to the blade at an ideal angle. Highly Recommended!
